1. Particulars of Organization, Functions, and Duties

Name: Akathethara Grama Panchayat, Palakkad District.
Mission: To provide basic amenities, implement poverty alleviation programs, and ensure local social justice and economic development.
Functions: Maintenance of village roads, street lighting, waste management, issuance of birth/death/marriage certificates, building permits, and welfare pension distribution.

2. Powers and Duties of Officers and Employees

·         Secretary: Executive head; responsible for implementing resolutions and managing the office.Assistant Secretary / Junior Superintendent: Assists in administration and supervises section clerks.

·         President/Ward Members: Elected representatives responsible for policy decisions and development projects.

3. Procedure followed in Decision-making Process

·         Decisions are made through Gram Sabha meetings for local priority and Panchayat Committee meetings for final approvals.

·         Technical approvals are obtained from the Assistant Engineer (LSGD) for civil works.

·         Functions are discharged according to the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 and the Citizen's Charter published by the Panchayat.

·         Standing Committees: Public grievances can be raised through the respective ward members.
